Originating from Havana Cuba, Greydis Montero Liranza is the director of Greydis Dance since 2015.

She is an award-winning and highly accredited dancer with over 20 years of experience in the dance world. She has performed and taught throughout the world sharing the hot, sexy and sublime rhythms of Cuba and the Caribbean.

Her national and International experience along with 6 years training at the prestigious and highly competitive ‘Cuban National School of Art ‘ENA’ has allowed her to bring to New Zealand an unparalleled wealth of knowledge, technique, skills and passion to dancers and communities.

Greydis settled in New Zealand in 2002 after her worldwide tour as Choreographer and Principal Dancer of the hit international show ‘Lady Salsa’. She is the only Premier Cuban Female Dancer, Choreographer, Tutor, and Judge in New Zealand.

Fourteen years on, she is not only been teaching, choreographing & performing many styles of dance but has found unexpected work & performance opportunities in Film, TV Programs, Theatre, Festivals, Music Videos, TV Commercials and Radio Shows, including:

From 2002 till 2011Greydis was a Co-founder, Director, Choreographer and Tutor of ‘The Cuban Groove Dance Company’ and School based in Auckland.

In 2008 she was the Artistic Director and Choreographer of the show ‘Cuba Viva’ at the New Zealand Pacific Salsa Congress in Wellington.

Greydis was the Director, Choreographer, Principal Dancer and Actress of the ‘International Show Cuban Carousel’, as well as the Dance Director of the Jambalaya International Festival in 2009.

From 2010 till 2011, she was part of ‘Tempo’s Trust Board’, the prestigious New Zealand Dance Festival.

Teaching, performing, choreographing and judging internationally have enabled Greydis to expand and develop an extensive knowledge of the dance world allowing her to share her expertise and experiences.

Greydis has won several first prizes, national and Internationally in Contemporary and modern dance before her arrival to New Zealand.

While in New Zealand she has been awarded:

- The New Zealand Pacific Salsa Award for her contribution to Latin Music and Dance in 2008.

- Best Choreography with International Flavor at Tempo, NZ International Dance Festival 2008.
- The Cuban Festival Award for her contribution to Cuban Music and Dance in 2012.

Greydis is not only a world-class exponent of Cuban dance but she also, offers a various range of wellbeing, empowering dance and fitness styles. 

She is the Creative Director and trustee of the ‘Aotearoa Cuban Dance Festival’ since 2014 and has been representing New Zealand at many international cultural events.
